Tragedy struck on Sunday when a car veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Khatangal on the Chenani-Ladha link road in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death of a driver and injuries to three passengers.
The deceased has been identified as Rinku (32), a resident of Madha in Chennai Tehsil. The injured passengers, identified as Neeraj Singh, Ramesh Singh, and Raj Singh, all residents of Kither, Chennai, were promptly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
According to police reports, the car carrying the occupants met with the unfortunate accident, causing it to roll down the gorge. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The incident serves as a grim reminder of the hazards of road travel, especially on rugged terrains. Authorities urge caution and adherence to safety measures to prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.
