Delhi reports 148 new cases, lowest daily new cases in 9 months

India sees 12,921 Covid cases in the last 24 hours, active cases come down to 1,84,182.

With 12,921 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 caseload rose to 1,06,68,356, while recoveries surged to 1,03,30,084. India’s tally of active Covid cases have now fallen to 1,84,182.

Delhi recorded 148 fresh Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, marking the lowest daily rise in infections in a span of nine months, as the positivity rate stood at 0.31 percent. The infection tally in the city stands at 6.34 lakhs, and the death toll has mounted to 10,813 with five new fatalities. Currently, active cases amount to 1,694 in the national capital.

Haryana reported four coronavirus-linked fatalities, bringing its death toll to 3,014, while 118 fresh cases pushed the infection tally to 2,67,321. The number of active Covid-19 cases in Haryana stands at 1,378, while a total of 2,62,929 people have recovered from the infection in the state. Haryana has a Covid-19 recovery rate of 98.36 percent.

Uttar Pradesh reported 220 new Covid-19 cases 24 hours, pushing the state›s infection tally to 5,98,907, while the death toll climbed to 8,624 with seven more fatalities. The number of active cases in the state now stands at 6,813.

Maharashtra reported 1,842 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, slipping below the 2,000-mark after a week, taking its tally to 20,10,948. With 30 more deaths, the state›s fatality count rose to 50,815.

56 new cases, a record low in more than seven months, were reported in Andhra Pradesh. The state also reported 141 more recoveries and two fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours. After 1.29 crore total sample tests so far, the gross confirmed positive Covid-19 cases touched 8,87,066 in the state, at the rate of 6.87 percent.

Karnataka reported 375 new Covid-19 cases, 1036 discharges, and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases rose to 9,36,426. The death toll also rose to 12,200. Meanwhile, since the pandemic has broken out, 9,17,361 have recovered in the entire state. Currently, there are 6,846 active cases in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir recorded 64 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the infection tally in the union territory to 1,24,083. No new deaths were reported. Of the fresh cases, 25 were reported from the Jammu division and 39 from Kashmir.
