In a latest update, around 40 people lost their lives after consuming spurious liquor in Bihar’s Saran district. The death toll is expected to rise.
The rising death toll created a ruckus in the parliament; Bihar CM said, “There is a full effort to impose liquor ban in Bihar. People were dying here when alcohol was not prohibited, so we enacted the ban.,” he said.
“People have to be alert, so remember not to drink liquor,” he added, stating, “piyoge toh maroge.”
Bihar witnessed 20 deaths on Wednesday due to the consumption of spurious liquor hooch. This incident took place in the Doila village of Isapuar police station area and Yadu Mor Mashrak police station.
In response to the incident, Madhaura DSP said, “they are looking for people who’ve consumed the liquor and fallen sick. Dead bodies have been sent for postmortem and others are being treated in the hospital.”
Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar lost his temper in the assembly on Wednesday regarding hooch tragedy and said, “Kya hogaya, jehrii sharab, halla kar rahe tum log.” This comment came after BJP tried to target him over the Chhapra hooch tragedy.
