Congress relies on CM Gehlot’s leadership, BJP pins hopes on PM Modi

Leading the Congress campaign, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is reaching every assembly constituency and seeking votes for the candidates. The party’s high command has also left everything to Chief Minister Gehlot. Be it the issue of ticket distribution or the election strategy, everything is being done according to Chief Minister Gehlot’s advice. The party high command has understood that only Chief Minister Gehlot can lead the party to victory in Rajasthan.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was on a tour of the Deegana constituency. During this visit, Chief Minister Gehlot addressed a public meeting organised in support of Congress candidate Vijaypal Mirdha and appealed to vote in favour of the Congress party.

Experts believe that there is no major resentment against the Chief Minister, but some candidates are facing backlash. However, the situation is more or less the same in the BJP. Now, in such a situation, if the candidates are successful in promoting Chief Minister Gehlot’s welfare schemes to the public in a firm manner, then Congress will not face any problem in crossing the magic figure. Congress is adopting the strategy of aggressive campaign based on the seven guarantees of Chief Minister Gehlot.

On the other hand, the BJP is fighting the elections banking on the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his schemes. The BJP candidates will seek votes in the name of Prime Minister Modi only. The role of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in the campaign will also be important for the BJP.

Right now Raje is making the headlines due to her statements. One day, she said she was leaving politics and the other day she said she was not going anywhere. These statements are being interpreted differently. These statements may have an impact on elections. Giving tickets to most of her supporters, the party has indicated that she is being taken seriously. However, the only Muslim face in the BJP, Yunus Khan, has decided to contest as an independent after not getting the ticket. This may shift the Muslim voters in favour of Khan, which will be harmful to the BJP.

BJP stalwarts are going to campaign from Tuesday. On the first day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will take charge and the next day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Rajasthan. He will address rallies on 9 November.

While from the Congress side, only Chief Minister Gehlot will be in a commanding position, from the BJP side, the entire army will be in the field. This will be the first election where a direct electoral battle will be seen between Prime Minister Modi and the Chief Minister.
