Centre: LPG gas cylinder prices slashed by ₹200 for all consumers

During a Union cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the Centre reduced the price of cooking gas by $200 per cylinder. Additional subsidies under the Ujjwala scheme have been approved by the cabinet. The extra subsidy is $200. For PMUY beneficiaries, the subsidy will now be $400 per cylinder.

“PM Modi has decided 200 reduction in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, for all users…this is a gift from PM Narendra Modi, to the women of the country, during the occasion of Raksha Bandhan”, said Union Minister Anurag Thakur.

Thakur told the cabinet briefing that on the festival of Rakhi and Onam, 75 lakh women will receive free gas connections through the Ujjwala scheme.
