19 seats, 199 candidates: Jaipur gears up for intense assembly battle

On the last day of nomination withdrawal, Thursday saw a day full of hustle and bustle. Meanwhile, in the evening, it became clear who all the candidates were in the field. After the withdrawal of nominations, there are a total of 199 candidates left in the electoral field for the 19 assembly seats of Jaipur district. On November 6, the last day of nomination, a total of 298 candidates had filed nomination papers. On November 7, 35 nomination papers were cancelled.

After that, on November 8 and 9, two more days were given for withdrawal, during which a total of 55 candidates withdrew their names. On Thursday’s last day of nomination, 46 candidates arrived to withdraw their nominations on 19 seats. The biggest name in this was Rajpal Singh Shekhawat from Jhotwara, who, having rebelled from the BJP, entered the field to contest as an independent candidate. However, he later withdrew the nominations.

Meanwhile, in the 8 constituencies of Jaipur city, Jhotwara has the highest number of candidates in the electoral field. In the Jhotwara assembly, which has the most voters, 18 candidates are set to contest the elections. Here, a decision will be made on the fate of 4,280,067 voters. Meanwhile, there are at least 8 candidates in the election field of Kishanpole.

Four BSP candidates have withdrawn their names.
On the other hand, candidates of the Bahujan Samaj Party have withdrawn their nominations from four seats in Jaipur city. Among them, Ram Lal Choudhary from Sanganer, Hasan Raja from Adarsh Nagar, Tarusha Parashar from Hawa Mahal, and BSP candidate Arun Chaturvedi from Civil Lines have withdrawn their nominations. Balmukund Acharya, the BJP candidate during the nomination withdrawal of the Hawa Mahal candidate, was also present.

9 candidates in Kotputli, 11 in Viratnagar, 6 in Shahpura, 9 in Chomu, 8 in Kishanpole, 13 in Vidhyadhar Nagar, 10 in Civil Lines, 14 in Adarsh Nagar, 16 in Sanganer are in the field. 8 candidates in Fulera, 5 in Chaksu, 10 in Hawa Mahal, 12 in Bagru, 10 in Malviya Nagar, 8 in Jamwaramgarh, 13 in Bassi, 15 in Amer, 18 in Jhotwara, and 4 in Dudu are in the field.
