Union Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Thursday that the Congress and opposition parties have decided not to allow the Parliament to run smoothly following the adjournment of the Rajya Sabha for the day. Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm on Thursday, and then it was resumed again. Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the opposition in the House, claimed he had been requesting a discussion on the Manipur issue since the morning but had not been granted one. Despite requests from opposition members to act with decorum, Dhankhar was compelled to adjourn the House for the day due to constant sloganeering.
Following the adjournment, the Union Minister addressed the media and stated, “After seeing the opposition’s attitude, it becomes clear that they have made up their minds to not let the Parliament function smoothly.”
He alleged that the opposition parties are disrupting the proceedings of the House, even after the Central government said that it is ready to discuss the Manipur incidents.
