The three-day monsoon Vidhan Sabha session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly that started on August 25 witnessed a lot of uproar on its first day over the issue of loss caused to crops and property by the flood. A heated argument and fierce tussle were witnessed inside the house between the political giants from the ruling and opposite factions. In the name of unity in opposition, the opposite parties were seen united in the name of unity, ignoring mutual differences. It was also seen when there was anger and displeasure among the veterans of their own party.
In the present session, the members of the Chautala family were witnessed getting involved in heated discussion, and likewise, in the remaining days too, everyone’s eyes will be on the Chautala family’s uncle-nephew duo. Over the issue of crop damage caused by floods, Abhay Singh Chautala took on his nephew Dushyant Chautala, who holds the portfolio of the concerned ministry. In continuation of this, Ranjeet Singh, an independent MLA, and the Power Minister came up in support of Dushyant, which led to a ruckus in the assembly. Similarly, the Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and another party leader, Kiran Chaudhary, are not on good terms, but despite that, they stand united while attacking the ruling faction.
Likewise, following the argument with Bhupender Singh Hooda and the comments of speaker Gyanchand Gupta, Anil Vij, the state home minister, staged a walkout on the first day, leaving everyone stunned. Vij was repeatedly asked to sit down and cooperate by the speaker, which reportedly annoyed him. He got so upset that he himself went out of the house. After this, Speaker Gyanchand Gupta had to request Vij to come inside the House. Now everyone’s eyes will be on Vij’s position in the House. Hooda had cornered Vij on the role of CID in the Nuh riots, and Vij himself was disgruntled with the functioning of CID. Congress leaders and stalwarts of other parties were divided outside the House in a speculative battle, but contrary to this, both factions were united in the session on the first day.
