Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma on Monday reviewed the implementation of Centrally-sponsored schemes in Haryana and instructed the officials to complete all the development works in time.
“It is the duty of all of us to complete the development works announced by Ratan Lal Kataria (the late MP), and officials should complete all the development works in time.” he said.
He also asked the officials to disseminate information about the schemes to the public.
Stating that some officers are not even aware of the development work of their department, he said the issue is a matter of serious concern.
“Officers should go from village to village and make people aware about the development works related to their department. Development works worth crores of rupees are being carried out by the Central and state governments to provide benefits to the people. Up to 50 per cent subsidy is being given by the government in the field of animal husbandry, agriculture and industry, due to which the beneficiaries of these schemes are getting direct benefits of lakhs of rupees,” he said.
Presiding over the meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA )in the District Secretariat on Monday, Sharma directed officials to complete the remaining work before the Lok Sabha election.
There was no DISHA meeting on this subject for the last one year. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has asked Sharma to review this meeting.
Kartikeya Sharma, who is also the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee Chairman, said that about 62 agendas were discussed in detail in DISHA meeting. He further added that the Central government has provided abundant funds to the Haryana government for development works and under the able leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the Haryana Government has also provided funds for development works.
He directed the officials to make the programmes being run for solid and liquid waste management in urban and rural areas under the Swachh Bharat Mission more effective. He said that special promotion should be given to skill development among the youth. The MP said that new technologies are coming up and therefore, the concerned officers should generate new ideas among the youth.
While reviewing the schemes of the Health Department, Kartikeya Sharma expressed satisfaction over the work being done by the department. Deputy Commissioner and Member Secretary of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee Captain Manoj Kumar while welcoming the chief guest Kartikya Sharma and other dignitaries, said that the purpose of DISHA’s meeting is that the officers should speed up the pace of work and improve the quality of development works. There should be improvement. He said that it is the officers who take forward the activities of the government and bring the schemes on the ground.
