NSG, CISF CHIEFS VISIT BLAST SITE; JAMMU IAF STATION GETS ANTI-DRONE SYSTEM

National Security Guard DG M.A. Ganapathy and Central Industrial Security Force Director General Sudhir Kumar Saxena on Wednesday visited the Indian Air Force blast site in Satwari area of Jammu to take progress of the ongoing investigation in the case. They were accompanied by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu, Mukesh Singh and other senior officers of Jammu Kashmir Police. 

“Duo reached the IAF blast site at around 1630 hours and for about 2 hours they held discussion with several officers who are part of the investigation in the case. They also visited both the places where the blast took place after explosives were dropped using drones. Before visiting IAF site, the duo held a meeting with top officials of Jammu and Kashmir Police.”

Meanwhile, in a significant development, an anti-drone system is being installed at the Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Jammu days after explosives-laden drones dropped bombs in the technical area of the airport. “Drone Monitoring & Jammer system installed in IAF Station Jammu by National Security Guard. NSG has also deployed commandos with Anti-Drone Guns for security of Indian Air Force’s ‘High Value Asset’,” source said.

While NIA has reregistered the case FIR No. 170/2021 of PS Satwari, district Jammu dated 27.06.2021 as RC-03/2021/NIA/JMU under sections 3 & 4 of Explosive Substances Act, 1908, sections 13, 16, 18 and 23 of the UA (P) Act, 1967 and sections 307, 120B of IPC, 1860.

Section 3 of Explosive Substances Act, 1908: Punishment for causing explosion likely to endanger life or property; Section 4 of Explosive Substances Act, 1908: Punishment for attempt to cause explosion, or for making or keeping explosive with intent to endanger life or property; Section 13 UAPA: Punishment for unlawful activities; Section 16 UAPA: Punishment for terrorist act; Section 18 UAPA: Punishment for conspiracy of terror act; Section 23 UAPA: Enhanced penalties, If any person with intent to aid any terrorist or a terrorist organisation; 307 IPC: Attempt to murder and 120 B IPC: Punishment of criminal conspiracy.
