Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K. Chandrashekhar Rao made it clear that he is fit and healthy, and will continue to be Chief Minister for the next ten years, putting an end to speculation about a change in leadership in Telangana.

He also asked the party cadre not to make unwarranted comments on the issue or indulge in rumours. “If anyone in the party announces that KCR is stepping down for his son, such persons would be suspended,” he said.

Recently, many TRS leaders had said that KTR will take his father’s place as Telangana CM. Minister Etela Rajendra and some MLAs had even announced this in KTR’s presence. However, KCR made it clear that there won’t be any change of guard in the state.

The Chief Minister made the statement while addressing the TRS State Executive Committee meeting at the party headquarters at Telangana Bhavan. The meeting lasted over two-and-half hours and various issues pertaining to party membership, constitution of the party committees from the village level to the state level, the election of the party president and the party’s annual meeting scheduled for April 27 were discussed at length.

Referring to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor candidates for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, KCR said that their names will be announced on the day of the election in a sealed cover.
