A total of 1565 new cases were reported in Gujarat on Saturday, which is the highest in this year. The Corona transition has had a direct impact on the Holi-Dhuleti festival celebrations. The state government has given conditional approval to the Holi-Dhuleti festival celebrations. Only a limited number of people have been allowed to be present to light Holi. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel informed about this development.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has said that Holi can be lit for the puja ritual in the state but the state has banned the celebration of color festival. The decision was taken at a core committee meeting with the Chief Minister on Saturday late evening. A limited number of people are allowed to gather for the Holika Dahan, a religious celebration. But playing Holi has not been allowed. I am confident that the citizens of the state are aware and no one will play Holi. Religiously Holika burning is allowed. All have to follow it.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that in view of the prevailing situation in Corona, a limited number of citizens have been allowed to formally light Holi on the upcoming Holi festival in March. It has not been banned by the state government. He has appealed to the citizens of the state to stay away from Rangotsav and Dhuleti celebrations for the safety of the people on or after Holi day.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said the decision was taken in the public interest in view of the prevailing Corona situation at a meeting of the core committee chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Strict action will be taken by the police against anyone violated the ban, he added.
Nitin Patel said that the state of Gujarat is fully prepared to fight against corona at a time when it is rampant in many states of the country. So there is no need to panic but to be careful and follow all government guidelines, said Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel.
