The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today publicized photos of 10 individuals implicated in the March attack on the Indian consulate in San Francisco, USA, appealing for public assistance. The agency, in its three distinct notices, urges for any vital information that can facilitate the arrest of these suspects. Two notices display images of two suspects each, while the third showcases six. Guaranteeing confidentiality, the NIA ensures that informants’ identities will remain undisclosed.
The consulate assault transpired on March 18-19, with alleged pro-Khalistani activists unlawfully entering and attempting arson. That same day, supporters hoisted two Khalistani flags on-site, damaging the consulate and injuring its officials, stated the NIA. Another incident on July 1-2 saw perpetrators trying to set the consulate ablaze with officials inside. Following a June 16 registration of the case under multiple Indian laws, the NIA initiated its investigation. An NIA team even travelled to San Francisco in August as part of the probe.
