The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted an extensive raid on the residence of Jashn bouncer in village Bhima, suspecting links with Khalistan supporters. Following an eight-hour interrogation at his home, Jashn was taken to the Rodi police station for further questioning.
According to villagers, prominent Punjabi celebrities had visited Sirsa during the farmers’ movement three years ago. Kartar Cheema, among these visitors, took Jashn bouncer to Chandigarh, where he stayed for an extended period. Subsequently, Jashn associated with Punjabi singer Kaka and has been serving as a bouncer and driver for farmer leader Bhanna Sidhu for approximately 18 months.
In a poignant recount, Darshan Kaur, Jashn’s mother, described the sudden police presence at her home in the early hours. She was about to leave for the Gurudwara when she encountered the police, who initiated a search operation immediately. Both Darshan Kaur and her husband Mandar Singh were restricted to the house’s courtyard during the procedure.
Darshan Kaur asserted her son’s innocence, emphasising his humble educational background and prior employment in PVR, Sirsa. She shared that her son mostly stayed with Bhanna Sidhu and worked for him, only visiting home occasionally.
Sources reveal that during the interrogation, Jashn mentioned his inactive bank account and alluded to numerous international calls he received after Bhanna Sidhu shared his number for flood relief efforts in Punjab. He clarified that while many offered financial aid, he never shared any bank details, urging them to send money through relatives instead.
The raid by NIA, accompanied by Rodi police, sent shockwaves through the village, leading to a palpable tension among the residents. Jashn, once a boxer, later transitioned into his bouncer role, according to locals.
This action aligns with NIA’s consistent efforts against suspected Khalistan sympathisers and affiliated criminals. Previous NIA operations targeted individuals in Dabwali, Kalanwali, and Raniya areas, with multiple raids in Sirsa alone.
