The National Investigation Agency has recently filed a chargesheet against 2 more accused persons in the CPI (Maoist) terror financing network case relating to the proscribed terror outfit’s attempts to revive naxal activities in the Magadh region of Bihar.
The 2nd Supplementary Chargesheet, presented before the NIA Special Court in Ranchi (Jharkhand), identified the accused as Vijay Kumar Arya, also known as Vijay Arya or Dilip, and Anand Paswan, also known as Anandi Paswan, both residents of Bihar.
According to the NIA’s official statement, both accused individuals face charges under Section 120 (B) of the IPC.
Additionally, Vijay Kumar Arya faces charges under Section 120B, read with sections 13, 18, 20, 38, and 39 of the UA(P) Act, 1967, while Anand Paswan faces additional charges under Section 39 of the UA(P) Act and Section 25(1B)(a) of the Arms Act.
The terror financing network linked to the case (RC-05/2021/NIA-RNC) was orchestrated by CPI (Maoist) cadres and Over Ground Workers in the Magadh Region of Bihar.
The NIA registered the case suo moto on December 30, 2021, and 5 accused individuals, namely Tarun Kumar, Pradyuman Sharma, Abinav alias Gaurav, Anandi Paswan, and Vijay Kumar Arya, have been arrested to date.
The first 3 arrested individuals had been charged on January 20 and June 28 of this year.
As part of their criminal conspiracy, the accused were involved in fundraising for the acquisition of arms and ammunition, as well as the recruitment of new cadres, in collaboration with incarcerated Naxals and Over Ground Workers held in many jails.
The release disclosed that investigations have unveiled Vijay Kumar Arya’s role as a Central Committee member of the CPI (Maoist), while Anand Paswan was identified as a key supporter and former cadre of the banned organization.
The statement further revealed that Vijay Kumar Arya played a crucial role in motivating ex-cadres and acted as a liaison between the outfit’s operatives and other stakeholders of the CPI (Maoist) Magadh Zone in Jharkhand and Bihar.
Additionally, Anand Paswan was found to be in possession of arms and ammunition.
