Two foot overbridges are under construction by NHAI on the Zirakpur-Ambala Highway, and the work is nearing completion. Additionally, the flyover near Mac-D Chowk has been finished, while work on the flyover near Singhpura is progressing rapidly. The foot overbridge structure near Makedi had already been erected, and the structure near the metro is also complete. However, the installation of initial stairs and elevators to access them is pending.

Once the flyover construction is complete, traffic from Chandigarh and Ambala will utilize the road. To ensure pedestrian safety in crossing the road, both foot overbridges will have provisions for four elevators (lifts). This measure aims to assist elderly and disabled individuals in crossing the road without any inconvenience.

Previously, during peak hours, individuals had to go to VIP Road to cross the road, consuming 10 to 12 minutes. Crossing hastily posed a risk of accidents due to speeding vehicles. NHAI officials assure that both foot overbridges will be completed soon and opened for public use.Two foot overbridges are under construction by NHAI on the Zirakpur-Ambala Highway, and the work is nearing completion.
