Two other men were also hurt in the incident, which took place outside Shotgun Willie’s in a Denver suburb. One man was shot in the back, while another suffered injuries from shattered glass.
Reynolds and Companions Followed After Leaving Club
The 29-year-old Reynolds and his two friends were reportedly followed as they departed from the strip club. The shooting occurred as they traveled in a blue Ford Bronco. According to local reports from 9News, police responded to multiple emergency calls on Friday morning.
Upon investigating, authorities found “numerous bullet defects in the back driver-side and front windshield” of Reynolds’ vehicle. Court documents revealed that Reynolds and the other victims encountered no issues inside the club. However, several cars began trailing them shortly after they left, as they headed toward the highway.
Suspects Apprehended in Reynolds’ Shooting Case
Denver police reported that two suspects, Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the shooting. Surveillance footage showed Mendoza’s vehicle closely following Reynolds and his companions. Charlesworth allegedly admitted to authorities that he was helping a friend follow the victims due to a previous disagreement.
The Broncos released a statement after Reynolds missed last Thursday’s game against the Saints, citing his placement on the injured reserve list (IR) due to a finger injury. “Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the team announced. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”
