The focus will primarily be on a big state like Uttar Pradesh from where 80 Lok Sabha seats come. Assembly elections are to be held in Uttar Pradesh after eight months. To win UP, the BJP will have to get the social equation right, and thus it will need Brahmins, Jats and backward classes. Therefore, the Brahmin face of Rita Bahuguna Joshi from Uttar Pradesh, Kurmi OBC vote-bank of Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel are necessary; then to remove the resentment of the Jats, in the wake of the farmers’ movement, BJP’s UP’s biggest Jat face Sanjeev Baliyan is likely to promoted as a Cabinet minister.
