Clamour for Rajini to join politics grows, posters with ‘now or never’ surface in TN

After the talks of Rajinikanth floating political party resurfaced this month, wall posters calling for political change have been out in several districts of the state.

On Monday, posters were put out in Vellore by the Rajini Makkal Mandram district unit saying that the time for a political change in the state is “now or never” emphasising that the time is running out.

Though the information of Rajinikanth announcing his political party in November came out only through unofficial sources, posters in Vellore were perceived as a pressure tactic to force Rajinikanth
to make his political announcement at the earliest as the state stands to face elections after 8 months.

Following this, on Tuesday posters praising Rajinikanth were put out by the Madurai RMM district unit saying, “The entire country will march behind the good leader soon.”

In March this year, Rajinikanth announced that he has dropped an idea for political change but after the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic his political calculations hit a roadblock and since then he has communicated only through his twitter handle.

Since 12th March, Rajinikanth has tweeted 17 times including thrice about Covid, thrice on condolence, five tweets on wishes and six more tweets on various developments in the state.

On Thursday, the commercial wing of Coimbatore RMM put out posters calling for political change as envisaged by Rajinikanth in his last press meet.

An oral instruction has been sent to all district units asking them not to put out posters until it is been asked to do by the high command and also communicated not to act on their own.

Speaking with ‘The Daily Guardian’ an insider said that posters are being seen as if the fans are not happy with the delay in floating the political party and to stop that this instruction has been given by the high command.
