In Nabi Pur Colony, Gurdaspur, the discovery of a fetus has sent shockwaves through the community. The fetus, believed to be of a newborn, was brutally attacked by stray dogs, leading to its tragic demise. The lower part of the fetus’s body was savagely bitten, resulting in its untimely death.
The local police have taken custody of the fetus and sent it for a post-mortem examination at the civil hospital. The incident came to light during a visit by Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jindpa, who expressed deep concern and condemned the inhumane act.
The distressing incident unfolded when the community found the fetus lying abandoned near the roadside, just two days after delivery. Stray dogs roaming the village were seen carrying the fetus under a vehicle, prompting villagers to intervene to rescue the newborn.
Regrettably, during the rescue attempt, the stray dogs had already bitten off the lower portion of the fetus, resulting in its tragic demise. The child’s limbs were fully formed, emphasizing the brutality of the attack. Local leader Indrapal Singh Bains described the incident as shameful, bringing disgrace to humanity.
