Every year, a 15-day fair is organized in Pushkar, Rajasthan. This year, the fair, set to begin on November 14th, will showcase various new attractions. For the first time, camel polo and horse riding will be introduced in the fair’s activities. Additionally, several animal enthusiasts will participate in the Pushkar Fair. The Animal Husbandry Department is also planning to organize a parade for various cattle breeds for the first time. However, this year, entry for horses from Sikar will not be allowed.
Furthermore, this time, the fair will feature several new competitions. The competition for Gir breed calves will be held for the first time, and a proposal has been sent to the directorate for this event. There are also preparations for a parade of Gir bulls. Efforts are being made to contact livestock owners to organize a Nagauri bull competition.
The fair will commence on November 14th and continue until November 29th, the tent setup will take place from the 14th to the 16th, flag hoisting on the 16th, a white letter ceremony on the 20th, the inauguration of the development exhibition and Gir cattle exhibition on the 21st, cultural programs from the 20th to the 26th, animal competitions from the 23rd to the 26th, prize distribution on the 27th, and the of the fair on the 29th.
This year, no minister or politician will inaugurate the Pushkar Fair because there will be a Model Code of Conduct in place during the fair. Therefore, no political figures or ministers will be participating as guests in the inauguration or closing ceremonies.
