The government has announced a new policy, keeping in mind the employees who provide essential services like electricity without interruption. This policy has been immediately implemented, even extending support in cases of electric current-related incidents. Under the recent policy introduced by Powercom, a directive was issued a few days ago specifying financial benefits up to 10 lakhs for the families of contractual, outsourced, and C.H.B. (Complaint Handling Bike) employees. Orders to release compensation immediately were issued on December 22nd. The amount has been increased up to 10 lakhs.

Through the policy introduced for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) by the Punjab government, it has been assured that financial aid will be readily available in case of emergencies and accidents. In the case of major emergencies, an advance amount of up to 3 lakhs will be provided to ensure there are no shortcomings in treatment. Various facilities will be provided directly by Powercom to employees hired through contractors, outsourcing agencies, and companies.

Significant benefits will be available even in cases of fatal accidents, which were not provided earlier. In the communication issued by the department with reference number 7088/7613, it is stated that the ex-gratia amount for contractual employees in the event of any incident has been increased from 5 to 10 lakhs.According to departmental information, a payment of 10 lakhs will be made in situations involving 100% disability. During incidents, compensation will be determined based on the severity of the event. The assistance for employees in fatal incidents has been increased from 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs for ex-gratia aid. Additionally, financial support for employees has been raised, enhancing group insurance from 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs.
