Hyundai has had a busy start to the year 2023. After launching its electric flagship, the Ioniq5 at the Auto Expo, the Korean carmaker has launched the facelifts of its two most affordable cars in India, the Grand i10 Nios and Aura. Both get some significant changes when compared to earlier, specially when it comes to looks and safety. Looks The 2023 facelifts of both the Grand i10 Nios and Aura get a fresh face with a resigned grille which is finished in black and new shape of DRLs.

The headlamps though remain the same but on the profile you get redesigned diamond cut alloy wheels. On the rear of the Grand i10 Nios the big change are the new tail lamps that are connected with a reflector script. The car comes in 6 monotone and 2 dual tone exterior colour options including the new ‘Spark Green’ option. On the Aura, the rear wing spoiler and chrome garnish help give the car an upmarket look. The sedan is available in 6 monotone exterior colour options that includes a new Starry Night option. Interiors The feature list in the cabins of both the cars largely remains the same though there are new trim options when it comes to upholstery.

The 8-inch Touchscreen Display system remains the same as earlier and is compatible with Apple CarPlay&Android Auto. The instrument cluster is a mix of analogue and digital while the cars continue to get features like a Wireless Phone Charger, Push Button Start/Stop and Climate control. New additions to the list are Footwell Lighting and a Type C charging port. Additionally the Aura also gets Cruise Controlwhile Automatic Headlamps make their debut on the car. On the 2nd row you get AC vents as well as adjustable headrests. Engine Both the new Aura and Grand i10 Nios run on the same 1.2 litre naturally aspirated Petrol engine that makes 83 PS and 113 Nm. The engine is available with both a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT gearbox. A CNG version is available too on both cars, albeit with just a manual version. Here the power drops to 69 PS and 95 Nm. Hyundai says that the engine, powertrain options on both cars are RDE compliant and E20 Fuel ready. Unlike earlier both cars do not get diesel as well as Turbo Petrol options.

The new cars get a McPherson Strut front suspension setup and a Coupled Torsion Beam Axle in the rear. They also get disc brakes in the front row. Safety Safety quotient has really gone up from both cars. They now get 4 Airbags as standard while the top variants get as many as 6 airbags. For the first time on both cars, you also get features like ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) as well as a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Prices The new Grand i10 Nios is priced between Rs. 5.69 lakh and Rs. 8.46 lakh, while the new Aura ranges between Rs. 6.29 lakh and Rs. 8.87 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom and introductory.
