Mighty neighbours Nepal have stunned the world cricket and showed their presence as they have defeated UAE at Kirtipur stadium in Kathmandu and made into World Cup qualifier.
In the must-win match Nepal showed a great intent and took the total above the DLS par score in a very bad light condition. After the win, Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ invited Nepal’s cricket team captain Rohit Paudel’s side to his official residence in Kathmandu and announced Rs. 3,00,000 cash price to each player. U-19 player Gulshan Jha became the hero of his country as he smashed an unbeaten 50 runs knock with some much needed boundaries.
After win captain Rohit Paudel said, “It was gret to get such support from the fans. That was very motivating for the team. I am very happy with the result. We will now be playing some Test playing nations and I think that will bring the best out of us. We are very excited and looking forward to the qualifiers. I think we have got a good chance.”
Praising Nepal’s efforts and congratulating them for World Cup qualifications, former Indian player and commentator, Akash Chopra said, “Incredible scenes. So, so, happy for Nepal cricket. Soul of cricket lives in the subcontinent.
