Following the two-day visit to India, Prime Minister of Nepal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, visits Varanasi on the last day of his trip. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed him upon his arrival at Lal Bahadur Shashtri International airport. Upon his arrival, various artists performed traditional dances to welcome the Nepalese PM with flower petals and the beats of ‘Damru.’ Cultural programmes were presented to high-profile guests at 15 locations along the road from the airport to the Taj Hotel.

PM Deuba, along with his wife Arzu Rana Deuba, visited a couple of temple shrines to offer prayers. Along with CM Yogi Adityanath, PM Deuba visited the Kaal Bhairav temple to offer prayers. They also visited the Kashi Vishwanath temple, inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath, which connects Kashi Vishwanath temple and the ghats along the river Ganga. At the temple, Deuba and his wife performed ‘rudrabhishek,’ a rite in which prayers to Lord Shiva are offered. Afterwards, they watched a brief film about the history of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Kashi Vishwanath is also a part of a tourism circuit that aims to connect devotees with Pashupatinath temple.

India and Nepal collaboratively aim to bring forth multiple initiatives and sign significant agreements. Nepal became the 105th country to join the International Solar Alliance’s Framework Agreement (ISA).
