In a shocking revelation, negligence by a tuition teacher has resulted in as many as 15 children contracting Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh. The incident was reported from Bhatluru village in Sattenapalli Mandal of Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district. The tuition teacher from Bhatlur village recently tested positive for Covid-19. At least 15 students who had been visiting the teacher were found infected with the virus. Students are said to be under 12 years of age. What is more shocking is that their parents have also tested positive for Covid-19.

A total of 50 people were shifted to Guntur quarantine centres and parents remained in home isolation. On the same day, 39 coronavirus cases were reported in Bhataluru while the collector had warned that strict action would be taken if anyone in the villages conducts classes. A notice was served to the teacher as taking tuition amid the pandemic was against Covid-19 protocol. About 500 people from the village have been tested.

Along with the students, there are a total of 45 locals, whose results came positive. Among them, 17 members have comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension and asthma among others. BJP leader Lanka Dinakar, who recovered from Covid-19 recently, said, “Cases have crossed more than 7 lakh mark in Andhra Pradesh alone, and the state is now at 2nd position after Maharashtra in reporting coronavirus.

But on average of Coronavirus patients to the total population, Andhra Pradesh has been placed as number one among the worst affected states in the country. This is due to the inappropriate and adequate measures taken in the initial days due to improper approach of the CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.” Andhra Pradesh on Friday reported 6,555 new Covid-19 cases, taking the state’s tally of infections surpassing the 7,00,000 mark, according to official data. While 7,485 patients recovered and 31 succumbed, the death toll in Andhra stood at 5,900. East and West Godavari districts and Chittoor reported more than 900 cases each in 24 hours while Prakasam added 668 anew.
