Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in the construction work of roads. Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal gave this warning to the concerned agencies and officials while inspecting the work of recarpeting of roads going on in Sector 4 and Sector 11 of Panchkula on Wednesday. Recarpeting of roads is going on at various places in the city. During the inspection, the Mayor reached Sector 11 and during this Ward Councilor Omwati Punia was also present. During the inspection, the Mayor inquired from the contractor about the quality of the material used for recarpeting and asked the contractor to complete the work as soon as possible.
After inspection, Mayor Mr. Kulbhushan Goyal said that the work on the roads is going well. He told that a tender worth Rs 2 crore 44 lakh was floated for recarpeting the roads of Sector 11 and some areas of Sector 4, which was allotted to the contractor for Rs 1 crore 99 lakh. The Mayor said that during the inspection, he also talked to the contractor about the quality of the material being put on the roads. He told contractor that the quality of work should be good and there should be no compromise in the quality, and material should be put on the roads as per the material written in the tender so that the quality of the roads remains good and the roads last longer. The Mayor said that the people of Panchkula will soon find pothole free roads. The engineering wing of the Municipal Corporation has started the work of filling the potholes in the roads.
