Defending champion Neeraj Chopra made a stellar entrance into the men’s javelin throw final at the Paris Olympics with a remarkable performance. On Tuesday at Stade de France, Chopra, competing in Group B of the qualification round, delivered a season-best throw of 89.34 meters. This impressive distance not only secured his spot in the final but also positioned him at the top of the qualification rankings, ahead of all 32 throwers from both groups.

Chopra’s throw was the longest of the day, ensuring his place among the top 12 finalists. Unfortunately, India’s Kishore Jena did not advance; his best throw of 80.73 meters fell short of the 84-meter qualification mark.

Among the finalists joining Chopra on August 6 is Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who earned his spot with a throw of 86.59 meters, securing the fourth position overall. Nadeem had previously won silver behind Chopra at the World Championships in Budapest.

The final promises to be an exciting showdown, with Neeraj Chopra leading the pack and ready to defend his title with a standout performance.
