Both the major political blocs – the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) – are busy finalising their seat sharing for Lok Sabha election 2024 in Bihar. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA, bolstered by the return of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United, is confident pf repeating its sweep in the 2019 general election in the state when it had bagged 39 out of the 40 seats in the state.

On the other hand, the I.N.D.I Alliance is strategising on stopping the NDA electoral machine in the state. With the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, Communist Party of India (CPI), and Communist Party of India (Marxist), in the alliance, the seat sharing talks in the state are going to be tough nut to crack.

Senior RJD leaders incudling former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav and the Congress top brass will meet in Delhi on Monday to discuss the seat sharing formula.

Later in the evening, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will be in Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the same. The JDU in all probablity will get 16 seats to contest on while the BJP may keep 17 for itself while the remaining seven will be distriburted among the smaller partners.

The final NDA seat sharing formula for Bihar will most probably be announced by Tuesday evening and the the respective parties are expected to release the names of the candidates for Lok Sabha election 2024.
