The NDA government is set to be formed for the third time in a row under the leadership of caretaker Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
There could however be delays in the swearing-in process, amidst signs of unity within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and strategic moves by the I.N.D.I.A bloc. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has parties to join forces to protect the Constitution.
On Wednesday morning, all eyes were on JDU leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumarafter RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav flew to Delhi with him, raising eyebrows.
The photo of both the leaders sitting together has gone viral. Kharge and Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday that they will talk with the allies and give their opinion on the efforts to form the government. After the meeting of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, Kharge tried to send out a a message to NDA constituents
Analysts highlighted Congress’s historical success in coalition governments formed in 2004 and 2009, emphasizing that their current opposition stance against NDA’s majority might backfire.
Meanwhile, in the NDA camp, Acting Prime Minister Modi received unanimous support as the leader during the meeting, indicating his forthcoming re-election as leader in the parliamentary party meeting on June 7.
Allies like JDU, TDP, Shiv Sena, LJP, and Rashtriya Lok Dal are expected to secure ministerial positions, with Modi deliberating on the allocation formula.
It’s crucial to note that NDA allies could secure the position of Lok Sabha Speaker, while also aiming for significant ministries like Railways, Health, and Road Transport.
