NCP candidate Zeeshan Siddiqui from Bandra East exercised his right to vote on Wednesday at a polling booth in Mumbai for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024.
Marking an emotional moment, Siddiqui reflected on casting his vote alone for the first time since the passing of his father, Baba Siddiqui, a prominent political figure in the city.

“This is the first time I have come alone to vote,” he said, speaking to reporters. “My father is no more, and it feels different. But this is something that must be done, and I know my father is with me in spirit.”
The young leader shared that he began his day with a visit to his father’s grave, honoring his memory before heading to the polling booth. He emphasized the importance of voting, urging citizens to participate actively in the democratic process.
“I believe everyone must vote,” Siddiqui added, calling it a fundamental duty that strengthens democracy.
Zeeshan Siddiqui, a key contender in the Bandra East constituency, hopes to carry forward his father’s legacy in this high-stakes election.
