Former cricketer and former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu have again come into the limelight due to his behavior in jail. The prisoners lodged in the barracks with him said that Sidhu was taunting, and later, he complained to the jail administration. Sidhu is serving a one-year jail term in a road rage case in Patiala Jail.
According to the information received from the jail, Sidhu says that these prisoners bought goods from his cards without informing them. His card limit is low, so he objected to it.
Talking about the matter, Sidhu said that these prisoners made purchases with his cards without informing him. However, seeing the situation, the jail administration has changed the prisoners’ barracks lodged with Sidhu. At the same time, Sidhu’s close friends say the allegations about the behaviour are wrong.
Soon after this dispute, the jail administration immediately changed the barracks of three prisoners lodged with Sidhu. So now, only two prisoners are left with him. Confirming this, Patiala Jail Superintendent Manjit Singh said that the barracks of some prisoners had been changed. However, some prisoners have been kept with Sidhu per the jail rules.
Moreover, along with Sidhu, five more prisoners have been detained. Sidhu works for jail officials from the barracks itself. Seeing Sidhu’s security, he is not allowed to step out. If Sidhu has to order any goods, he gets them from other prisoners locked up with him.
Earlier, he objected to the police personnel during the election rally. After which, some employees of the Punjab Police were also enraged. The Chandigarh Police officer even sent a defamation notice. Along with this, Sidhu has also used abusive words for former CM Charanjit Channi.
