The preparations for the 75th Republic Day Parade are underway at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, with armed forces contingents actively participating in the dress rehearsals. The parade, a significant event in India’s calendar, is set to mark the 75th anniversary of the Republic on January 26, 2024. The rehearsals include marching by armed forces personnel to drumbeats, showcasing the discipline and precision that characterize the grand event.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the Republic Day Parade rehearsals, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory detailing special arrangements and restrictions. The rehearsals on Kartavya Path, scheduled for January 13th to 16th, will witness traffic restrictions at key crossings, including Kartavyapath-Rafi Mar Crossing, Kartavyapath-Janpath Crossing, Kartavyapath-Man Singh Road Crossing, and Kartavyapath-C-Hexagon. These restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on the specified dates.

This year, French President Emmanuel Macron is set to be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations. It marks the sixth occasion where a French leader will be present as the chief guest. Notably, the Border Security Force (BSF) will feature all-women marching and brass band contingents in the parade—a historic first. An Assistant Commandant rank woman officer, along with two subordinate officers, will lead a contingent of 144 women BSF constables, showcasing the empowerment and inclusion of women in the armed forces.

In preparation for Republic Day, the Delhi Police have heightened security measures across the national capital. A mock drill was conducted at Akshardham Temple to simulate a terrorist attack scenario, assessing the readiness of the police force to respond to diverse crisis situations. The increased vigilance aims to enhance overall security preparedness for the upcoming national event.

Additionally, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2024 is set to see active participation from 2,274 cadets representing all 28 states and eight Union Territories. Notably, this year’s camp will witness the largest participation of girl cadets, with 907 girls contributing to the month-long event.

As the nation gears up for the historic 75th Republic Day celebrations, the parade rehearsals symbolize the meticulous planning and dedication involved in commemorating India’s democratic heritage.
