The National Energy Conservation Week is in full swing at Government Polytechnic Nanakpur, led by ADC cum Chief Project Officer, Panchkula. Commencing on December 14 and continuing until December 20, the week-long celebration aims to promote awareness and understanding of energy conservation among students.
To kick off the event, Mahendra Kaushik ji, a prominent figure in energy conservation, was invited on December 14 to enlighten students about various energy-saving techniques and ideas. He shared valuable information on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electric vehicles, encouraging students to actively participate in the conservation efforts.
On December 15, the program featured Mr. Ashwini Kumar, a Solar Energy Expert, who provided students with fundamental knowledge about solar panels, their installation, and maintenance. The interactive session saw a high level of engagement from the students, showcasing their keen interest in the subject.
Dr. Neeraj Kumar, the program coordinator, revealed that upcoming activities during the week would include energy conservation initiatives such as slogan writing, poster making, and an awareness rally in nearby villages. Renowned energy activist Sunil Sood ‘12R’ will also address students and other stakeholders, providing insights into effective energy conservation practices.
Mrs. Suksh Goyal, Head of the Electricity Department, highlighted the establishment of an Energy Management Cell within the institute, responsible for organizing such informative programs. Dr. Sunil Gupta, the Principal of the institute, and Rajendra Kumar, Project Officer at ADC Office, Panchkula, emphasized the institute’s commitment to rewarding winners of various competitions conducted during the celebration.
During the event, Mahendra Singh, Head of the Department of Computer, Hitesh Arora, Head of the Department of Mechanical, Sheeshpal, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Anu, Vineeta, Satyapratap Maurya, Gulwinder, Mohit, Gurpreet, and the student coordinator of the Energy Management Cell were among those present.
