Maharashtra BJP calls for improved alliance coordination ahead of 2024 elections

In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the Maharashtra BJP is emphasizing the importance of enhanced coordination with its coalition partners, the Shiv Sena led by chief minister Eknath Shinde and the NCP faction led by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. Despite top leaders accepting the need for cooperation, the reality of tensions and pressures between the three parties at the grassroots level is acknowledged.
A highly placed source within the BJP revealed, “Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged the party to make concerted efforts to overcome differences with alliance partners. He emphasized the need to project a united ruling front.”
During a recent meeting, Fadnavis and state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule met with individual MLAs and MPs to review preparations and evaluate the performance of legislators over the past four years.
The BJP, with 105 MLAs, holds the largest number of seats in the state. In the upcoming 2024 elections, the BJP will be contesting alongside the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction).
