Mumbai police have filed a case against 32 individuals, including the promoter of the Mahadev betting app, under various sections related to fraud and gambling. The complaint, filed by social worker Prakash Bankar from Matunga, alleges that people were defrauded to the tune of Rs 15,000 crore through the app. Prominent names such as Saurabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal, and Shubh Soni are among those named in the FIR.

The accused reportedly engaged in illegal activities, including gambling, through the app, leading to substantial illicit earnings. The case has been registered under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, and 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code.

Earlier, the Noida Police had booked 18 individuals in the Mahadev App case under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also investigating the syndicate, with allegations that the promoters, currently abroad, are remotely operating numerous panels across India. The ED has arrested four individuals, seized proceeds of crime exceeding Rs 450 crore, and filed a prosecution complaint against 14 individuals.

In a significant revelation, the ED claims that payments of around Rs 508 crore have allegedly been made by Mahadev APP promoters to Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, as per information obtained during the investigation.
