After gathering the support base data of the Bihar-UP, especially the Mithila community in Punjab, suitable demands for the welfare of the society will be presented before the Punjab Government, ensuring benefits for the Mithila community settled in Punjab,” stated Kamlesh Mishra, founding member of the Mithila Student Union (MSU), during the ‘Mithila Manthan’ seminar organized by MSU in the auditorium of a private college in Mohali. He further mentioned that MSU organizations will soon be established in all colleges/universities across all districts of Punjab.

Mishra explained that the primary objective of MSU is the comprehensive development of Mithila Maithil, extending its reach to all states. He highlighted the substantial population of Mithila community members from Bihar-Jharkhand who have been residing in different cities of Punjab for many years, with their support base steadily increasing. Large populations of the Mithila community are found in cities such as Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Bathinda, besides Mohali. Mishra stated that MSU aims to connect people from the Mithila community living in Punjab by generating and releasing QR codes and links on social media to determine their exact support base in the region.

He praised the people of Punjab for their kindness and consideration towards everyone, emphasizing that the Mithila community members settled in Punjab have never felt like strangers. MSU President Ilkam Yadav provided additional information about the Mithila Manthan event, mentioning a colorful cultural program that featured performances by renowned singers from Mithila. The program, attended by dignitaries including Pappu Ji, Raja, Mukesh Jha, Sachin Pathak, Sanjay Sah, Devendra Yadav, Lale Mandal, and others, also had the presence of the organization’s national social media in-charge, Pankaj Kumar.
