On the second day of the two-day 36th Annual Sports Meet at Government Post Graduate College Sector-1, Member of Parliament Kartikeya Sharma participated as the Chief Guest in the event at the sports complex located in the college. Addressing the students. MP Kartikeya Sharma said: “We all can progress individually only when our country progresses. Only those countries have been able to develop in the whole world, whose citizens have developed national character within themselves.” Along with this, he talked about many important resolutions for the students to build a better nation. Giving the example of country’s Amrit Kaal, he said that the day is not far when our country will become the leader of the world in Amrit Kaal. He announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the development of the college. Kartikeya Sharma said that nowadays children are running towards degrees. “Children should pay attention to good education instead of degree,” he added.
College Principal Dr Devendra Singh Lamba presented the progress report of the college before the chief guest. In the closing session of the sports meet, Principal Dr Lamba told that this year the college administration is motivated to speed up many important development works. Be it sports, or academic results, the college ranks first in Haryana. Dr Ram Mehar Khatkar, Sports Secretary, Athletic Meet also presented the annual report of college sports achievements to the chief guest. During the sports meet on Friday, a tug of war was organized for the teachers and non-teaching staff. During the program, the race between kids of the staff doubled the attractionof the sports festival. Along with this, the chief guest Kartikeya Sharma participated in the tug of war to promote the spirit of sports.
