The run-up to the Brahmin convention, named as ‘Parshuram Mahakumbh’, has begun. The preparation is in full swing for the mega show on 11 December
in Haryana’s Karnal. Raising the tempo for the show Member of Parliament Kartikeya Sharma has invited all sections of people to participate in the Mahakumbh. While addressing a gathering on Thursday, the MP here said, “I appeal to the people to reach the convention in maximum numbers.”
In a bid to make the unique convention a great success, Kartikeya Sharma has been constantly meeting people from all walks of life and inviting them to attend the Mahakumbh. He is getting huge response from all sections who have already appreciated the initiative and welcomed it. Kartikeya Sharma said that the response he has been getting from all quarters has simply overwhelmed him.
Parshuram Mahakumbh is a gathering of 36 fraternities in the state. It is expected that Brahimin society would strongly present in the convention along with others in the state. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be present as the chief guest in the programme. Political experts believe that the convention has great political significance and may be a great factor for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Earlier, Kartikeya Sharma said that as a community all have to think why we are backward. “History is a witness that those communities which do not have unity lag behind…we have to unite and keep our point.”
Kartikeya Sharma is regarded as a big and young Brahmin face in politics. His father Venod Sharma, a hugely known face in Indian politics, had earlier advocated for justice to all segments of society. While being an MLA, Venod Sharma had raised the voice of the people of the economically weaker Brahmin section. He also fought for 10 percent reservation for the class. The young MP has also been following the footprints of his father and has emerged as a political face in the state of Haryana.
