The Madhya Pradesh government decided on Wednesday to establish new medical colleges in six districts: Khargone, Dhar, Bhind, Balaghat, Tikamgarh, and Sidhi.
The decision was made at Mantralaya in the state capital during a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Following the meeting, State Home Minister Narottam Mishra briefed the media on the council of ministers’ various decisions.
“During the meeting, the cabinet approved the proposal to open new medical colleges in six districts of the state which include, Khargone, Dhar, Bhind, Balaghat, Tikamgarh and Sidhi. The council of ministers also approved the proposal of Rs 1335.20 crore for the construction of 33 new innovative CM Rise schools,” Mishra said.
He added that the cabinet also extended the deadline for transfers of employees and officers within districts from June 30 to July 7. The home minister also stated that the ministerial council had approved Rs 24000 crores for electricity subsidies. Exemption from the destitute fee for the purchase of summer moong and urad crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
In addition, the cabinet approved Rs 1700 crore for the fourth phase of the Chief Minister’s Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for a period of two years. Seep Amber Complex Irrigation Project Phase 2 in Sehore’s Bherunda has been approved for Rs 190 crore. Irrigation will take place over a 13,457-hectare area, benefiting 24 villages in the Bherunda tehsil, according to the minister.
The home minister also stated that the council of ministers approved an amendment to Revenue Book Circular (RBC) 6(4), which increased the compensation amount for banana farming damage caused by natural disasters. In certain categories of loss, the compensation amount was doubled.
