The memorandum of understanding, MoU has been signed between the Supreme Court of India and the Supreme Court of Singapore in the field of judicial cooperation. Thus, the two chief justices witnessed the signing of the said Memorandum Of Understanding, MoU.
The bench headed by Justice Sundaresh Menon watched the proceedings of the court of the Supreme Court of India, the bench was lead by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud.
On February 04, 2023, the Supreme Court of India was celebrating its Foundation Day for the first.
Therefore, the Chief Justice of Singapore, Justice Sundaresh Menon, was invited as the Chief Guest for the event and had delivered a lecture on ‘Role of judiciary in a changing world’. In the speech, the bench referred to the Supreme Court of India as among the busiest courts in the world and its justices as among the hardest working judges because of the immense caseload that they carry.
Since 2012, the bench of Justice Sundaresh Menon has been serving as the fourth Chief Justice of Singapore and Justice Menon being the first Singapore-born Chief Justice of Singapore. Therefore, just like the CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice Menon did his Master of Laws from Harvard Law School.
