Comgress MP Manish Tewari and Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut have proposed a discussion in the Lok Sabha over the price rise on Monday.
The government last week stated that a discussion on price increases and inflation is expected to be brought up in Parliament the following week, giving rise to optimism that the animosity between the government and the opposition that has hampered the monsoon session could be overcome.
Dola Sen and Mausam Noor, two Trinamool Congress (TMC) legislators, have requested a discussion on the “need for prevention of crimes against women” in the Rajya Sabha right away. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar of the TMC has filed a similar notice in the Lok Sabha. According to a party leader, the Congress is expected to elect more female representatives after bringing up the matter.

Separately, the 2022 Weapons of Mass Destruction and Their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill is anticipated to be introduced by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The proposed bill, which was approved by the Upper House, aims to outlaw the financing of WMDs and provides the Center with the authority to freeze, seize, or attach the financial assets of those involved in these activities.
The Anti-Maritime Piracy Bill, 2019, which attempts to provide specific measures for preventing piracy on the high seas and providing for its punishment, is set to be introduced by Jaishankar in the Lok Sabha.
