Deepika Padukone has returned to the set of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, despite being pregnant with her first child. Photographs taken by the paparazzi show the actor in full costume, shooting alongside Rohit and other cast members. Deepika was dressed in a police uniform, with her hair tied up in a bun and wearing sunglasses to complete the look. Although she announced her pregnancy in February, her baby bump was not visible in the photos shared by Zoom on Wednesday.
Fans expressed surprise at Deepika’s return to work, with one Twitter user asking, “Isn’t she pregnant?” Another user responded, “She can still shoot until she feels comfortable.” There was also a lighthearted comment, “Mother isn’t mothering yet?”
In ‘Singham Again’, Deepika plays Shakti Shetty, alongside Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, and Kareena Kapoor. The film brings together the major names from Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, with Arjun Kapoor portraying the villain.
Deepika and Ranveer announced their pregnancy in February through an Instagram post featuring baby shoes and clothing with the caption “September 2024.” The couple, both 38, got married in an intimate ceremony in 2018 in Lake Como, Italy. They also attended the pre-wedding functions of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where Ranveer joked about becoming a dad.
Apart from ‘Singham Again’, Deepika will also be seen with Prabhas in the sci-fi fantasy movie ‘Kalki AD 2089’.
