To keep a check on sub-standard and adulterated khoya, ghee, paneer, milk etc. during festival season, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Viraj S Tidke, today, directed SDMs, Police and Food Safety Officers to launch an extensive checking drive of food establishments, restaurants, roadside stalls and sweet shops.
Chairing a meeting of all the stakeholders, he instructed the concerned officers present in the meeting to form teams in their respective areas and check the quality of the products being prepared/sold in food and beverage shops etc. During checking, if adulteration of khoa, ghee, cheese, milk etc. comes to notice, then appropriate action should be taken by collecting a sample immediately, he further added.
The police officers present in the meeting were also ordered to pay special attention to adulterated products coming from outside. Besides, efforts should be made to curb the adulteration of food items in the district by coordinating with the concerned sub-divisional magistrates and food safety officers.
Further, it was also asked to ensure that the daily checking report will be sent to the concerned Sub Divisional Magistrate and ADC office regularly. It was also directed to start the checking with immediate effect and to be continued for the next 15 days.
