The Golden Jubilee of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) was celebrated at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, graced by the esteemed presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Over one lakh farmers, milk producers, Animal Husbandry Farmers and cooperative leaders from across the state participated in this momentous occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extending heartfelt congratulations on the Golden Jubilee of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, remarked on the remarkable journey of the cooperative sector. He reflected on how a seedling sown by the villages of Gujarat fifty years ago has now flourished into a magnificent banyan tree, with its branches extending across the nation and beyond. Prime Minister affirmed the government’s unwavering support towards Amul’s aspiration to become the world’s leading dairy enterprise.

Highlighting the unparalleled growth of Amul amidst the plethora of post-independence brands, the Prime Minister emphasized, “There is no one like Amul.” He emphasised Amul’s significance as a testament to the resilience and prowess of the nation’s cattle breeders. Reflecting on Amul’s success and its pivotal role in the White Revolution, the Prime Minister paid homage to the invaluable contribution of the country’s livestock. In the Prime Minister’s words, Amul epitomizes brand success, embodying trust, development, public participation, farmers’ empowerment, and an embrace of modernity. He portrayed Amul as a beacon of inspiration for “Atmanirbhar Bharat,” symbolizing high aspirations, profound resolutions, and monumental achievements.

Discussing the inception of Amul, the Prime Minister highlighted that its roots trace back to the establishment of the Kheda Milk Union under the guidance of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Over time, dairy cooperatives proliferated across Gujarat, culminating in the formation of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation. The Prime Minister emphasized that even today, Amul stands as a prime example of the effective synergy between government and cooperative efforts.
