The couple, identified as Rajesh Kumar and his wife, had traveled to Zirakpur for work-related purposes. The incident occurred around 7 PM as they stood on the roadside, unaware of the impending threat.
According to Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Mona Green 2 on Ghazipur Road, the couple was engaged in the process of securing a ride home when the assailants approached them on a motorcycle. In a swift and brazen act, the youths grabbed Kumar’s mobile phone, which was a OnePlus device equipped with two active SIM cards, and sped away before the couple could react appropriately. Despite Kumar’s attempts to raise an alarm, shouting in an effort to attract attention, the snatchers managed to evade capture and fled towards Ghazipur Road.
Following the incident, Kumar immediately reported the theft to the police, providing them with a detailed account of what transpired.
