Three militants, Najibur Rahman, Sabbir, and Rabiul Islam, were recently caught in the JMB militant case from Haridebpur. There is another fugitive militant of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh organisation who is missing. His name is Selim Munshi. The police is searching for him. It is learned that Selim had been living in the Haridebpur area for about 15 years. He recently left the old small house and rented a big paved house. The people of the area knew that he spent his days repairing umbrellas and mosquito nets. However, the owner of the house did not know that he was a member of JMB’s sleeper cell.

He recently allowed three JMB militants in his house to stay. The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police conducted an operation there on Saturday based on secret information. But Selim escaped before that operation. Jihadi leaflets, books, phones, and diaries were recovered from his house. As per sources, investigators have found several important phone numbers. Detectives have obtained the phone numbers of several top JMB leaders.

With the goals to collect a huge amount of money and create sleeper cell in new module, three Jamaat militants came to Kolkata. They also did reiki to rob several banks, jewellery showrooms, and financial institutions. And behind this whole plot is Tahid Tasnim, a jailed Jamaat militant in Bangladesh. It is estimated that Tahid hatched the whole plan in jail. On Sunday, the STF of Kolkata Police arrested the three militants.

After questioning them, the police got indications of a big plan of 15 people including three militants, who entered the state through Malda during the lockdown. As a result, three people were arrested but the rest of the militants are still hiding. The police want to reach them as soon as possible. Investigators found the name of Al Amin, a member of the Jamaat’s Rabari wing, in a diary after the three militants were arrested. Al Amin is also a prisoner in Kashimpur jail of Bangladesh along with Tahid. It is learned that Tahid and Al Amin used to give necessary instructions to these three militants while they were in jail in Bangladesh. As per sources, these militants were hiding in Kolkata to raise funds for the sleeper cell.

They collected information on how tight the security of banks, financial institutions or jewellery showrooms targeted for the robbery was. There was a plan to commit robbery under the leadership of Najibur.
