The Turi Film Festival, a “micro film festival” that will showcase five-minute films submitted by aspiring filmmakers, has been launched in India.
The festival, which will stream entries on its YouTube channel from 15 May, is open to anyone who wants to submit a film in any language, as long as it is accompanied by English subtitles.
The festival’s website lists 13 suggested themes for submissions, including (un)employment, financial independence, child labour and social media. The deadline for entries is June 15, with voting open until July 31.
The first prize winner will receive INR100,000 ($1,300), with INR50,000 and INR25,000 for second and third places respectively.
