New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art once again took center stage as it hosted the highly anticipated Met Gala. The event, held on the first Monday of May, brought together celebrities, designers, and fashion enthusiasts for what is considered the apex of fashion events. This year’s theme, ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ promised to blend the beauty of nature with the evolution of fashion, inviting guests to embody ‘The Garden of Time’ in their attire.

One of the evening’s standout attendees was Bad Bunny, who made a striking statement in a custom all-black ensemble from Maison Margiela. The outfit featured subtle details, including a red strip running up the inside of his trousers, black accessories like sunglasses, gloves, and a hat, and a small bouquet in black, adding a touch of whimsy. Bad Bunny, a co-chair of the event alongside Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lopez, fully embraced the ‘Garden of Time’ theme with his attire.

Bad Bunny’s appearance at the Met Gala is not without precedent. In 2022, he made waves by wearing a Burberry gown that challenged traditional gender norms. Last year, he opted for a custom white suit, showcasing sophistication with a hint of avant-garde style.

As guests arrived on the Met Gala’s iconic red carpet, they were greeted by a stunning transformation into a lush garden paradise. The attention to detail, from the greenery-adorned press walls to the tent walls featuring images of leafy trees, set the stage for an unforgettable evening. The focus on reviving delicate garments from various eras offered a fresh perspective on fashion, celebrating pieces often considered too fragile for wear.

The Costume Institute’s exhibition, ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ paid tribute to legendary designers and showcased iconic designs spanning over 400 years of fashion history.
