An important announcement has been made regarding the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) initiated by the Education Department in government schools. According to information received, a Mega PTM is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 16, 2023, across all government schools in Punjab. The purpose of this meeting is to provide better education to students studying in Punjab and to foster good relations between parents and teachers.
The Mega PTM, slated for Saturday, December 16, will be held from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, requiring the attendance of parents of students from pre-primary to 12th grade.
During this event, school principals and teachers will discuss with parents the academic progress of their children, as well as their physical, mental, emotional, and social development. Information about the upcoming annual examinations will also be shared. Additionally, discussions will focus on creating a conducive environment both at home and in school.
Parents will be informed about initiatives such as achieving 100% results in board exams and efforts to increase admissions in government schools. Information will also be provided about Winter Camps, preparations for students’ enrollment in the new session at nearby schools of Eminence, business bolstering, zero dropouts, and ensuring 100% attendance of students in schools in the new session.
A cleanliness campaign will be conducted in all schools from December 13 to 15 before the PTM to present a positive image of the schools. Invitations will be extended to parents, Panchayat members, and SMC members during this PTM. Proper arrangements will be made for the seating of parents and community members, along with the provision of refreshments.
In addition, there will be an exhibition of library books and distribution of books for students to read during the winter holidays. A display of items prepared by students in the summer camp will also be showcased.
Various activities will be organized for parents, such as creating art on a whiteboard square by parents. Suggestions will be given to parents to spend quality time with their children and allocate time for their studies at home.
Parents will be advised to minimize the use of TV and mobile phones. Assistance will be offered for school homework and other activities at home during this Mega PTM.
